"his is a town located on the Vosk River. It is a member of the Vosk League; 19 river towns united against river piracy on the Vosk. It is similar to any of the city-states of ancient Earth Greece." - jozie.net on Siba
Much like Corcyrus, the town of Siba was taken over by outlaws - making the sim rather dead. There are three factions to this sim; the pirates, the outlaws and the village. (so, as you can imagine, it's not exactly doing it's job when working together to unite against piracy. Yar.) I've been here before to scout, and once looking for a lost slave of mine. The first time there was hardly any roleplay, the second time scared me out of my freewoman poof, but was some very excellent roleplay.
When I first got to Siba I was sure to take the trade and roleplay only dock, hoping that this would be a better experience than that of Jort's Ferry. When I arrived there seemed to be very little activity going on. There was an outlaw talking to her kajirus, and a few people who I couldn't see on my mini-map. I soon shut my mini-map, as I like to make my roleplay as real as possible. I wandered on into the village, searching for an inn. When you first enter, there's a blacksmithing unit, what looks to be a auction block and a place for the green and blue castes. There is also, thank God, an inn.
As soon as I spotted thus said inn I was filled with arrows by a pirate who I recognized from earlier raids I've been involved in, (let's not forget I AM a taluna.) I ran around, not sure where the raid dock was so I booked it to the trade dock... which had a big sign that informed me that if I exited that way I would be banned... SHIT. Well, I was downed; fucked. I had no weapons to defend myself as I was really, REALLY hoping this was going to be a peaceful trip. I quickly began to question which land was more dangerous. That of Jort's Ferry or Siba... Luckally, the outlaw who was talking to her slave earlier saved my poor disguised-as-a-lady ass. The pirate soon fled, (must have been scouting) and the outlaw helped me to my feet before I, foolishly, returned to the damn village to find the inn.
When I ran back I noticed that there were a LOT of people dressed in black... and then I noticed that there were a LOT of arrows flying back and forth. I climbed to the top of the blacksmith's hut thing and hid next to the chimney as I wondered who was with who (I have my tags disabled to enhance my roleplayz.) When the fighting died down and the locals were binding their captives I made a mad dash for the inn. Now, this inn/tavern is pretty interesting. When you first approach it the first thing you see is a graffiti'd rendering of the word 'Outlaws' on the front... which would lead one to think that this isn't the safest place for an unarmed female. It has all of the things you'd imagine a tavern would have - a dance pit, seating, a chilla, ect, ect, however it had a few things that I had NOT seen before. First thing I noticed was the posted menu on the wall. My roleplaying self was impressed, the second thing was that I noticed that they had pictures of young strapping kajirii! Oh my!
Since no one else was in the inn I just grabbed an empty room, hoping that no one would mind. I threw off my clothes and put down my hair and decided to call it a night. When I signed on the next morning I was greeted by a set of German-speaking outlaws and a few other outlaws who were pre-occupied with a captive. I seldom saw the captors again, but I did get a chance to speak with the German men. They were friendly, although being an unescorted freewoman, I felt a bit uneasy. Later on in the day I met a kajirus who reminded me a lot of a boy that I used to own... and a little bit of Jaem. :P I soon found out that, in the past few weeks, Siba has placed as one of the most raided sims... I can't say I was suprised. I also read a copy of "Gor's Sexiest Outlaws" which was a Relay of Life benefit that was quite lawlsy and very entertaining. I found it especially fun to see pictures of my enemies featured in the magazine.
In the end, Siba ended up being a much better experience than Jort's Ferry, and I very much hope that I get to visit again. :)
